Connected features the work of more than 800 students from SFArtsED’s programs in the public schools. All visitors to the exhibition are invited to take a moment and create a small piece of art that will become part of the exhibition. From curator (and SFArtsED Artist) Zoe Farmer: “This exhibition is about wonder. It navigates connections between art, science, community, and nature. Formally it is inspired by natural phenomena such as mass migration of giant spider crabs, the marching lines of lobsters, and the patterns formed by bird murmuration. It also gestures to communities gathering together for strength, change, and safety, particularly in this political and cultural moment. Like bees, fish, and birds, our communities can be alerted to gather and to act.
